Thursday 13th
It’s always good to have a sea day. Unfortunately the
weather was not very good at the start of the day. David looked at the sky and
went back to bed.
After a slow start we watched the tango dance lesson and
then found that the sun was shining. David decided to sit outside and get some
colour. Unfortunately other people had noticed the sun before we had, so all
the sunbeds were full. We sat at a table.
David had never been to afternoon tea on a ship so I took
him along to experience it, complete with harpist. We both drank iced water
rather than tea. He was disappointed in the sandwiches. I enjoyed the little
cakes and had half a scone. However, I never think that the scones are worth
eating when they only have whipped cream; they need clotted cream.
We spent some more time out in the sunshine before getting
ready for dinner. For the first time, the third couple at our table joined us.
They had been dining in alternative restaurants, or had been late back from excursions, and could only visit the Main Dining Room on that one night.
The ship docked in Ajaccio about 9pm. Some people went off
the ship and wandered around. We skipped the first dance session as it was in
Hemispheres. (There was a cocktail party in the Queens Room and I had been
unable to secure an invitation to it, despite all my hints.) We enjoyed a dance
spectacular in the theatre and then did some dancing in the evening and a lot
of watching.
